The price
difference between the Standard Trophy Hunt and the Option Two
Trophy Hunt is due to the loss of valuable hide on the throat due
to the cut that is required for the shoulder mount.
The prices for
the Standard Trophy Hunt and the Option Two Trophy Hunt do not
include the hide. If you damage the hide during the hunt,
you will be automatically charged for an Option Three Trophy Hunt.
The
Option Three Trophy Hunt involves a cape cut on the hide for
taxidermy-related mounts, such as a full body mount. This
choice ruins the hide for commercial purposes and the hide cannot
be sold on the market.
Wetlands hunts are
limited to no more than four (4) hunters at a time. Most of
our hunts are for only two persons. If your party is for
four or more, you will most likely be the only party hunting at
that time. At the time of reservation, we can inform you of
how many persons will be hunting at the same time.
The ranch is
approximately 21,000 acres in total and operates primarily as a
cattle ranch, but also has citrus, sugar cane, and farming
operations. The alligators are located in canals, water
retention areas, ponds, lakes, marshes, cypress strands, and
swamps. We hunt them generally off of swamp buggies and out
of four-wheel drive trucks, but do utilize airboats as well.
Legal weapons for this
type of hunt are Compound Bows, Re-curve Bows, Crossbows,
Harpoons, Snares, Bang sticks, Power Gigs, Knives, Handguns,
Rifles, and Shotguns. We are permitted to hunt during the
day or night, but firearms are not permitted on night hunts.
Our hunts involve
special permitting and licenses. We handle all of this for
the client. All that is necessary is that you show up and
hunt. We take care of all of the paperwork. We do need
at least three weeks to secure the necessary licenses. When
we receive your deposit, we will overnight the required paperwork
so we can secure your license.
